First drive, some sailing and a trip to Fremantle

Took both the bike and the camera out for a drive today through Kings Park, on a tour up the memorial avenue. This street is special because all the trees along the sides have a little sign sitting in front of them with a name on them. The names correspond to fallen soldiers, and the trees are put there in their honour. It’s a beautiful and a bit thought provoking trip to take. I made a little video about it. It has timestamps in there as I didn’t know it would do that, and it gets further distorted by having the fisheye effect fixed, so sorry about that.
I don’t look too impressed in the video but that's just because I’m tired and forgot to smile Smiley med tungen ud af munden I am actually pretty excited.

Later Dan, Brodii and myself went for a sail, Dan and Beth have these nifty plastic sailboats that basically fold out to trimarans. They have these pedals in case of no wind, which came in handy because no wind was everywhere.
Danii and a friend of hers came out on small one person kayaks and Brodii and I had some fun chasing them. That got old fast so we chased some waves instead. Eventually we just floated about. Dosn’t seem terribly exciting but what a great way of spending a day.

Later in the day we all went to Fremantle for a walk around and some fish’n chips. Fremantle was first declared a city 1929, and today functions as the port of Pert.
Dan told us a story about his brother Duncan here. Back in the day when they were all yong men, Duncan was a well trained athlete, and was given the honour of opening the a festival at the Fremantle harbour. He was to jump from a platform high up, into the water. The docks were filled with people watching in anticipation. Duncan got ready to jump and just as he left the platform a local news channel  turned on a powerful projector directed straight at him. The light momentarily blinded Duncan and he hit the water in an awkward way. People got silent and Duncan was not coming up. Dan, who was there with Beth jumped in the water, along with another guy. Dan went down to the bottom of the harbour but down there you can see almost nothing. Dan went down three times but found nothing, luckily the other guy had by change found Duncan on the bottom and pulled him back up. An ambulance was called and Duncan, with Dan next to him, was rushed to the hospital. Duncan pulled through and is today live and well, but that story sticks with them, perhaps more with Dan than Duncan, to this day.
Quite a story, and it was only made more interesting by being at the actual location:

A few more pics from there:

Dan and Beth

Yes, it's Bon Scott, or a statue of him anyhow

It's the lower of the two signs that is interesting ;)

The one making a face is Bethanii. Yes we are related.

After that little piece of history, we got some fish’n chips at this place that had been there since 1903, that is since before Fremantle was declared a city.
